Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses is a program that helps small business owners grow and create jobs by providing them with greater access to education, financial capital and business-support services. Through the program, you will gain practical skills in topics such as negotiation, marketing, and employee management, and receive the tools to develop a customized business plan for growth.

RSVP for our upcoming information session on May 18, 2016 at Hope Village Kitchen located at Hope Artiste Village, 999 Main Street, Unit 1113 in Pawtucket, RI 02680.

Utilizing a network of more than 100 academic and community partners across the United States, Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses has partnered with the Community College of Rhode Island as a designated location for their education program.

Education for Business Growth: The education program’s curriculum, designed in conjunction with Babson College (the nation’s top-ranked entrepreneurship school),  focuses on immediately applicable skills.

You will learn how to:

  • Identify and evaluate business opportunities
  • Understand and manage the competitive business environment
  • Analyze financial statements
  • Access financial capital
  • Become a more effective leader
  • Become a more skilled negotiator

Capital to Expand: Accepted businesses who attend the 10,000 Small Businesses program beginning in September 2016, will have increased access to capital. Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses is working with BDC Capital, a Rhode Island-based mission driven small business lender, to expand access to capital for local businesses.

A Network of Support: Through the education program, you will have opportunities to learn from other small business owners, receive expert advice from business professionals, get one-on-one business advising, and join an alumni network following graduation.

Applications for the program are due Wednesday, June 1. Applicants who apply must be passionate about growing their business, creating jobs in their communities and must meet the general criteria:
