The onions and garlic are packing spice. The apples and squashes are getting sweeter by the day. Join us for the start of another 365 days of local food. Chefs and eaters\, one and all\, come enjoy all that grows in Rhode Island year-round! \nALL WINTER (AND SPRING) LONG: Lettuces\, arugula\, bok choi\, kale\, collards\, cabbage\, chard\, apples\, cider\, potatoes\, sweet potatoes\, onions\, leeks\, garlic\, radishes\, fresh herbs\, beets\, carrots\, parsnips\, turnips\, winter squash\, oysters\, beef\, pork\, lamb\, Narragansett Creamery cheese\, eggs\, honey\, maple syrup \nAlso\, find these special items in the following months! \nDECEMBER: Wreaths and swag\, broccoli\, cauliflower \nFEBRUARY: rosemary\, thyme \nMARCH: maple syrup\, salad greens\, chard\, bok choi\, cilantro\, parsley \nAPRIL: ramps\, asparagus\, fiddleheads \nALSO from local producers: jams\, jellies\, artisan breads and pastries\, gluten-free breads\, chocolates\, fair-trade coffee hot or by the pound\, gifts for your favorite foodie \nThe Wintertime Farmers Market started in Providence in 2007 inside AS220 with 10-12 farms and producers. The market quickly outgrew the performance space and in 2008 jumped just across the Providence / Pawtucket line to the south hall of Hope Artiste Village\, where the Wintertime Market opened its third season in 2009 with over 50 farms and producers. In 2010\, the market expanded to a second day: Wednesday evenings. In 2013\, we expanded into both the 1005 and 99 hallways of Hope Artiste Village. \nFood Stamps / SNAP:\nFarm Fresh offers $2 free for every $5 for customers using their EBT cards (SNAP). Thanks to Bank RI\, The Rhode Island Foundation\, June Rockwell Levy Foundation\, Wholesome Wave\, and your donations. \nCOMPOST:\nCompost drop-off is available to customers outside on Dudley Street. \n*There are no dogs allowed in the indoor Wintertime Farmers Market.
